Job Description

We are seeking a commercially minded, analytically capable operator to work closely with a senior international business advisor. This role sits at the intersection of research, business development, marketing coordination, and strategic execution.

You will be responsible for conducting intelligent research on companies and markets, identifying high-potential prospects, coordinating marketing initiatives, and engaging with senior decision-makers via structured Sell By Chat outreach. This requires judgment, commercial awareness, and the ability to understand how businesses make money – not simply follow templates.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Economics or a related field, and is looking to build a career in strategy, international business, growth or operations. You are intellectually curious, commercially sharp, and comfortable interacting professionally with senior executives. You will work directly with leadership, translating strategy into disciplined execution. Success in this role requires initiative, structured thinking, attention to detail, and the confidence to think on your feet.

  1. Calendar, Diary Management & Travel Coordination
    • Proactively manage a complex and evolving calendar across time zones
    • Prioritise meetings in alignment with revenue, client and strategic priorities
    • Prepare briefing notes for key meetings, including background research on attendees and companies
    • Coordinate domestic and international travel, ensuring efficient scheduling and preparation
    • Act as gatekeeper where required, ensuring time is allocated to high-value activities

This component is about enabling focus and leverage – not simply booking meetings.

  2. Business Development & Market Intelligence
    • Conduct intelligent research on target companies, sectors and decision-makers
    • Analyse company positioning, financials, growth signals and expansion indicators
    • Identify high-potential prospects aligned with the advisor’s strategic focus
    • Develop tailored outreach strategies based on research insights
    • Execute structured Sell By Chat outreach on LinkedIn and other platforms
    • Engage professionally with senior executives, responding thoughtfully and commercially
    • Track and manage prospect engagement through agreed CRM or tracking systems
    • Continuously refine outreach strategy based on response patterns and feedback

This is a core commercial function of the role – not a templated SDR role. It requires judgment, pattern recognition and commercial reasoning.

  3. Marketing Coordination & Execution
    • Coordinate content publication across LinkedIn and other platforms
    • Support blog, newsletter and podcast production workflows
    • Manage marketing project timelines and ensure execution against deadlines
    • Monitor content performance and engagement trends
    • Liaise with designers, coordinators and other team members to ensure high standards

This requires structured thinking and follow-through, not just posting content.

  4. Client Success & Project Coordination
    • Coordinate onboarding of new advisory clients
    • Prepare meeting documentation, summaries and follow-up actions
    • Track delivery milestones and ensure commitments are executed
    • Maintain clear communication between advisor and client stakeholders
    • Anticipate risks or delays and proactively escalate where required
    • Support preparation of proposals, reports and strategic documents

The role requires professional confidence when interacting with senior executives.

  5. Practice Growth & Strategic Leverage
    • Identify process improvements that increase efficiency and scalability
    • Help systemise business development and marketing workflows
    • Create structured templates, research frameworks and tracking systems
    • Analyse activity-to-revenue conversion patterns
    • Contribute ideas for expanding the advisor’s reach, positioning and market impact
    • Continuously ask: “How do we increase leverage and focus on high-value activity?”

This is where you elevate the role beyond “assistant.” This role exists to increase strategic capacity and revenue-generating time.

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Marketing or a related field
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and understanding of how businesses generate revenue
  • Strong research and analytical capability (ability to interpret company positioning, financial signals and growth indicators)
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for senior executives
  • High level of professionalism when interacting with decision-makers
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing detail
  • Confidence using LinkedIn and digital platforms for professional engagement
  • Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, CRM systems, project management tools)

Preferred

  • Experience in business development, growth, consulting or professional services
  • Experience conducting market or company research
  • Familiarity with Sell By Chat, LinkedIn outreach or social selling frameworks
  • Experience coordinating marketing campaigns or content publication
  • Experience working with senior executives or founders
  • Exposure to international business environments
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and business performance metrics

Ways of Working

We are looking for someone who:

  • Thinks before acting – and asks “why” as often as “how”
  • Takes ownership rather than waiting for instruction
  • Communicates clearly and concisely
  • Is comfortable being held to high standards
  • Values structure, systems and process discipline
  • Is proactive in identifying bottlenecks and proposing improvements
  • Is comfortable with constructive feedback
  • Maintains discretion and professionalism at all times
  • Seeks to understand the strategic context behind tasks

Within 3 months:

  • The advisor’s calendar is optimised for high-value activity
  • Outreach is consistent, targeted and professionally executed
  • Research quality is high and informs engagement strategy
  • Marketing initiatives are coordinated without reminders
  • Clients experience smooth onboarding and communication

Within 6–12 months:

  • A predictable pipeline of qualified conversations is developing
  • Systems are documented and repeatable
  • Administrative burden on the advisor has materially reduced
  • Execution quality is consistent and reliable
  • The advisor’s practice is measurably more scalable

A Business Associate role with Dearin & Associates provides many professional development opportunities, including:

  • Opportunity to work in a fast-growing consulting company with a dynamic, young team
  • Opportunity to work across a range of exciting, internationally-focussed projects
  • Increased knowledge of and practical experience in international business
  • Practical experience in data analysis, marketing and communications
  • Enhanced business communication skills
  • Experience liaising with a range of business and government stakeholders, both domestically and overseas
  • Performance-based commission structures, at the company’s discretion

This is a contract role, starting at 20 hours per week (3-4 hours per day). There is opportunity for the role to expand over time as client demand grows, advisor programs scale, and the candidate demonstrates strong commercial and strategic impact. For the right candidate, this may evolve into increased hours and broader responsibility.
