Welcome to the Digital Edition of The Global Standard

The world of international business is being rewritten in real time. Technology, geopolitics, AI and shifting global power dynamics are transforming how companies grow — and who gets to participate.

Once the domain of multinational giants, global expansion is now within reach for ambitious founder-led and mid-market companies. But while the opportunity has never been bigger, the narratives guiding leaders are dangerously outdated.

Part I: Rethinking Global Business

Why the old narratives are failing — and what replaces them.

Chapter 1: Breaking the Myths

The four most persistent myths stopping companies from expanding internationally — and why they’re wrong. In this opening chapter, Cynthia dismantles the outdated narratives that continue to shape global strategy. From protectionism to the belief that only big companies can succeed overseas, these myths distort decision-making and limit growth.

An artistic collage of gears, ships, and planes over a world map, illustrating how modern technology and logistics have democratized international expansion for smaller companies.
